My left hand is disabled from an old injury, at least as far as being able to grip things like a barbell goes, for the most part. I have some grip strength, but not much. And specifically when it comes to things like bent over barbell rows, or deadlifts, or Romanian deadlifts, my ability to use that equipment was seriously impaired by the injury. Without the aids I was able to use it somewhat, but it caused me a lot of discomfort and was really problematic, especially when it came to having an even grip on the bar and not having it lean to one side or the other. So before I ended up trying the hook aids from ActiveHands, I tried a couple other typical aids that are often used for deadlifting, straps and stuff like that, and I had some help sometimes with those, but the results were really inconsistent and really not as helpful as I would have liked. The ActiveHands hook aids are a whole other level better. They are immensely helpful. They basically allowed me to regain full workout functionality without any real impairment, and so I’m really a big fan of them and I’m happy to be the one who leaves the first review on them because I’d recommend them to anybody else who has a hand injury that prevents them from using a barbell or something similar with full functionality! I love ’em!!!
