Separate cup holder from clamp allows me to remove it when not in use. Cup holder diameter a little small but flexible. Long term durability will determine cost benefit advantage.

You need to clamp onto a strip of rubber to protect your paint and to stop the thing coming loose.
Being able to remove the cup holder while keeping the clamp in position is very handy.
